Anyone a volunteer at sidelines?

http://www.sidelines.org/

A gal over on a local board told me about this program for high risk mothers.. I guess this is a good way to maybe get some births in also so I put in an application! If not I can still work with pregnant mothers!!!!!

Oh, that sounds great! I was ready to sign up but saw they only take women who themselves have had a complicated or high risk pregnancy

Yeah, thats true.. I have had some issues with my pg in the past and a gal I talked to asked her leader about it and said I would be fine if I wanted to volunteer.. So maybe contact them and ask.. I mean us being doula's and all that HAS to be a bonus!!!

I am a volunteer. ...and yes you have to have had complicated or high risk pregnancy even if you are a doula. It's a great program..have not had a chance to help a mom yet...however looking foward to it.

Question

've never heard of it before! So are there state chapters or something? How do I know if anyone in WV has dealt with this? I've never heard of it, but after being on bedrest for 10 weeks with my Pre-e w/ Mallory I wonder if that would count? Anyone with info let me know!

I didnt have that many complications and I was told to put in a application! I have had a m/c, dealt with infertility, had lots of bleeding while pregnant and severe M/S and the leader told thte girl that referred me that I would be fine to volunteer.. When I went to fill out the forms earlier I listed all that and there is a HUGE list of complications on the form.. So even though what I went through is no where as bad as others I can still help, at least I was told I could.

I've recommended Sidelines to a number of people, but I don't know if anyone followed up with it. It never occured to me to volunteer myself. Now, I haven't had any *very* complicated pregnancies, but do apply in a few of the categories, so I think I'll give it a shot.

Who knew having a "large family" was a pregnancy complication??

What will happen once you are accepted? Did you complete a training of some sorts?

Bekah, I seen that!! I was wondering, is 3 kids a "large" family?
