I am definitely a brand-new aspiring doula so this is the thread for me!:blush
I am getting ready to register for a DONA training seminar. I have two choices of location with two different trainers.
I'm wondering if anyone has some advise for choosing one or the other-mainly some possible questions I could ask each trainer to get an idea of which training might be a better fit for me?
i may have to pick based on location anyway, but just in case I have the luxury of choice...:sgrin
Thanks for the help!!!:thx

Well, if you can choose, I think after you meet each lady, you might know. Like whichever you feel most comfortable with.

I'm new to the field, and not yet certified. Everything is worrisome for me. There's a lot of hoops to jump through to be certified. I'm worried I won't do things right to be certified. I'm worried I won't know what to do when I get there. I'm worried I won't make enough money and will have to take on another job (and take care of a family, and keep sane... lol). I'm worried I won't get enough clients in my area. There is really no set way to do anything in this field (completely unlike my major--nursing). I like being able to be my own boss, but I am not sure I know how. Luckily, I have a great mentor who is helping me on my journey, and I know she won't let me stray too far off track! :)

I wanted to respond to all the aspiring , practicing, and veteran doulas about worry and fear...I think we all doubt our abilities at times, especially when starting a new endeavor, but the areana of birth and labor is attractive to us because of it's purity...the beginning of LIFE!!if we can trust and hold that good energy for our mamas in labor, that pure faith and support of their efforts in all faucets then things fall into place, you DO know just what to do and when, you clients pay you and TIP you, and you build beutiful relationships with people and their precious children that last a lifetime. This line of work rocks, and we are SO needed in society. Push on through, you'll know what to do!!!

Hi, Jade! I am new to AllDoulas, and am having trouble deciding which doula training program is right for me. Would you mind telling me what route you took in becoming certified(you mentioned Intuitive Doulas), and how long it took from the time you began training to the time you became certified? Do you know much about ALACE? I have looked into their Doula program a bit.

Thanks!

Suzanne:thx
