Besides babies r us, hospital events, or things that have "baby" in the title, in what other events have you "set up shop"? The only event I have done was a MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) event, where different vendors were set up and there were games and a raffle. Have any of you had any success at events not specifically targeted for expectant moms?

I do our small community trade show. More for a community support thing than any thing else. It was cheap...like 20$/table. Last year I did get one VBAC client from it.
I did a bigger trade show as well for the city our hospital is in. I had some intrest, but not alot. It was about 300$. So I probably won't do it again.
But then again, its so hard to know, because its great exposure. BUT most people go to trade shows for somthing to do, they really are not that interested in vendors. Or at least thats why I go to trade shows. Mostly to see whats going on and get my bag of mini donuts.

We have a outdoor community market every week that I have been thinking of going to with LLL because lots of healthy-type moms go there. It is only $25. There are different vendors there...this week: a plant guy, master gardner program, several local farms, honey and wine lady, homemade breads, blueberry farmer, petal pushers, and a dairy. We have to have proof of insurance though to be there and product liablity insurance, which I don't even know what that is, to sell products.
Of course, La Leche League's World Breastfeeding Week celebration has a 'baby-type' fair that we attend.
MOPS is a good idea...I will have to look into it. Thanks.

A few of us volunteered this year for the local folk festival. We basically just sat in the baby change area, but it was free and we got to have our brochures out. A few brochures where taken, and the MC of the children's concert area where we where kept plugging doulas. It was a nice day outside and good to get some doula exposure in our city.
