This one doesn't involve a client but I feel it was a doula success nonetheless.
I was visiting an acquaintance in San Diego, one that I see once a year. We were discussing that I've been taking clients as a doula and she asked me,
"Now, a doula, isn't that where you only attend homebirths?"
It was great to be able to enlighten her, at length, about the role of a doula. Although she is educated and a mother of three children, she wasn't really sure what a doula is. That makes me smile that someone else will put a positive spin on our profession! :fingerdance
