Have any of you ever put your business cards in pregnancy books at the library or in bookstores?
Just wondering if it's even allowed..............to slip a few in here and there. :whistle

In the past, we've had a thread that started talking about doing that (you might be interested in reading it), starting with this post:

I will say that I read on a website once about business card etiquette (that you should not leave them in books, in bathrooms, etc.). The article said that they should either be given out personally, inserted into your brochure or correspondence, or displayed in a proper business card holder. ;) I can't for the life of me remember which site it was. You could possibly find this information if you :google it! (I've been looking for an excuse to use that particular smiley! :lol)

Thanks for the info Lorisa. I want to make sure I do things correctly, without seeming unprofessional.

No -- but in my other job I do marketing and fund development and am always happy to offer input ;-)
1. Offer to do talks and cheap or free lectures or demonstrations at health food stores, chiropractors offices, or maternity stores. I say cheap because where people have to pay a buck or 2 is often perceived to be valued more than if it was free. I mean look at Starbucks. Coffee usually costs a few cents, but they make a mint on their $3 coffee and cream.
2. Huntsville, AL has a successful "BirthStories&More" monthly get together at a bookstore featuring books and speakers on OFP, midwifery, doulas etc. Something like that?
Shameless plug -- for free marketing and business chatter, try the yahoogroup BirthBiz. Worth your time, IMNSHO. :-)
