Australian Doulas - Your opinions on trainings?

Hi There,

I've read quite a few threads around cyberspace talking about how good CBI training is or how good Optimum Birth training is.

I have to train distance ed. and have narrowed down my search to these two options. However, I'd really love a comparison between the two. From what I've read, it seems that CBI goes into a lot more depth, but am not 100% sure.

Are there any organisations in Australia that offer the training in a one-off live-in training type scenario? ie. like 2 weeks intensive training?

I tend to learn better through visual & hands-on, so I have my reservations about distance education. Though, it's the only practical option for me.

Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated.

Kind Regards,
AngelsMum

Hi there,

i posted in your other thread too!

The OB course is fairly quick and easy to do online and then there is also the advanced cert which is a live-in 5 day intensive at Lismore, NSW. PM me if you want to know more or check out http://www.naturalbirth.org.au/pages/default.asp
