ALACE Training

Has anybody here taken the ALACE training? What can I expect? Most of the people in my area are DONA certified but, ALACE resonates with me more. Plus, there is always the possibility of dual certs.
I am just wondering what it was like, what was covered. TIA!

I took an ALACE training last month, and loved it! You can check out my review here, if you didn't already.
I loved palpating bellies, and listening to the fetal heart rates. This will occur only if there are pregnant volunteers for that particular training. Learning those for experiential purposes as well as doing (optional) vaginal exams on each other, is what is so different with ALACE than other organizations (there have been a few threads in this regards, try a tag search for ALACE). I found them to extend my understanding of female anatomy, and it also taught me more about working in a sterile field. I met a lot of great women, and I am happy to have taken the training even though I am already certified through CAPPA. I can't say I learned much more (I did learn a new technique for support while pushing) because I've been practicing for 2 years, and CAPPA gave me an excellent foundation, but it did solidify what I know. I saw this workshop as a continuing education and local networking opportunity.
Enjoy your workshop, it will be fun and educational.

I completely agree with the above statements. I'm alace trained as well (took the course last year) and can't imiagine how it could have been improved in any way whatsoever. Im very happy I went with ALACE. and now that we aren't movingI'll be sponsoring a workshop in my town as well!@

I'm also ALACE trained. The workshop was very thorough. I took so many notes. My trainer was a very experienced Doula and midwife assistant. The class could have gone on for 3 more days, at least.
