Tomorrow night is my last night of the 12 hour required (for DONA) childbirth class. There are 9 couples in the class, so I've made up 9 little sample bags, and tied my psuedo business card (just printer paper that I have contact info on)to each bag with a piece of ribbon.
I've really enjoyed the class, and though I'm pretty sure that half the class thinks I'm some crazy hippie lady, and another third wishes I wasn't there, at least two of the couples seem interested in what I'm doing. So I've got my fingers crossed that one of these couples will become my first certifying birth! It's kind of a long shot, but I can hope, right?! Anyway, wish me luck. Thanks!!

Wow, you even made up sample bags! Nice! The instructor in my class would never have let me do that.

Yeah, same here. Actually the CBE is a doula also but she doesn't really let us "participate" in the class, we (2 doulas) are just "observers".
I did gave out some Mothering Magazines I had ( a donation from them for a activity I organized last feb in the past) to all the couples, but didn't include my business card, for the same reason explained above.
