Smile any aspiring doulas in richmond, VA?

If there are, i'd love to get to know you, e-mail, phone, study together. Perhaps starting in the late summer(?).
i'm starting my course very soon, and have begun getting the books, and other materials. It's nice for me to have an accountability partner to keep me on task, and true to my goals. i can do the same for you!!

I am!

I have not gone as far as choosing a program or beginning anything. I just finished the ALACE childbirth educator program and have begun teaching. I would love to start something by the end of the year, though. I would love to help you out if you want, though! I have a ton of books, too, if you need to borrow any!

That'd be GREAT! Where abouts in Richmond do you live? (If you want to pm me that instead of posting it, that would be fine.)
I live in Amelia, VA close to richmond.

Hi all,
I am glad to see this post. I live in Richmond actually Henrico County and know where Amelia. I have trained as a birth/postpartum doula and CBE through DONA, Maternitywise and CCS. Maybe we can continue to talk, meet, work together. Take care.

Virginia, I have heard your name around town! I am teaching private classes right now and will be teaching a free 2 hour seminar (on the Technocratic and Holistic models of birth, the Safety of birth, Consumerism (what can we, as health care consumers, do?) and the rising cesarean rate and cesarean birth prevention) at the Wellness Village at Starling on June 7th. If you have any clients that may be interested, I can give you more info.

I would love to chat or get together sometime. Somewhere on the southside would probably be central.

I am planning to attend a friend's birth in November, and hope to become certified sometime in the next year or so, but doulaing is on the back burner until I am done with babies. I am currently trying to conceive and am nursing my toddler.
