I submitted my test over a year ago, somehow it got lost, they contacted me and informed me of this. I had contact a month or more ago with the new grader who said she would get to it, and still no word back. Am I the only one?

I wanted to go with them for CBE, but they called once, got my voicemail (a month after I initially called them) and I called back and never heard a thing since, it has now been 4 months since I initially contacted them...

UUGGGHHH! This is annoying because they are my first choice! Then there's Birtharts but they don't have a workshop near me and I really want to go to a workshop.
I called, left a message and emailed them and didn't hear back either. So, I called again this past Tuesday and spoke with someone who said the doula training will begin again in a few months but the cbe program was still going. She mailed me info so I could sign up for the cbe program now if I wanted.
I believe the voicemail said something about bearing with them as they are understaffed at the moment.

maybe they need to raise their membership fees to pay for better staffing?

Does anyone know why they stopped their doula trainings?

If I remember correctly, and it's been a while, they were restructuring (I'm thinking around December maybe?) and they're down to one person in the office to deal with everything. They canceled a lot of birth doula trainings because of something about the state wanted them to get accreditation. They've been saying for a while that they were getting more people in the office and please be patient, but I haven't seen any updates in the past few months (like since March). HOWEVER, I haven't been actively seeking out updates, so there could very well be some out there. Maybe join their yahoo group and see if they have any updates there? If you can't find it I think I have the link somewhere - feel free to pm me. Missy (misilla) might have more info, too, because she's more active with ALACE than I am.
they have 2 new people now in the office, who did email me back.
if you want the email for the doula certification person, let me know, i am in contact with her for myself.
the woman that was the director, jemma boyle, is no longer there, so i think that things will start to pick up soon.
I recently called them when I was "shopping around" the different certification organizations--ALACE was my first choice. A woman answered my phone call immediately, apologized for the lack of trainings coming up, and said they were in a period of "restructuring." It sounded like it might be a long time, and I went with DONA.
