Posting on free sites
So, about 2 months ago, I posted a couple adds on free advertising sites like kijiji, an I have gotten about 8 calls inquiring about me, and I now have a client for every month - July til November! Since i am just starting, some of these are basically free, I am charging for gas, parking, meals, and a couple are paying a little more depending on situations. And I am only wanting to take about 1 a month cause I am still trying to ease my family into me being gone crazy hours. I am actually really suprised too at how many are younger, single moms! It's great!
I should have enough to submit my cert package by the new year!  This just goes to show, even though I am new, and inexperienced, there are people needing us doulas!!!!

LOL, sorry, I guess it's like a Craigslist sorta thing. But here we have both, seems most people in this area do kijiji. kijiji.com

Fantastic. Sometimes a trainee doula will call me feeling a little unsure about attending their first births and I always assure them that their clients will have a more enpowering birth because they are there.

Thanks gals, also when I googled free adds, 411 came up, so I put my name in their directory. I don't know if that is only Canada, but it is similar to yellowpages, and free!

 woohoo, huge congrats on getting so many mums and bubs from the listing.
I plan on starting study with CBI in July (just awaiting for my tax cheque to come in so I can pay upfront), but I've started looking into where I can advertise for my first births. WE have alot of parent forums here in Aust. so I'm hoping I might get them from there - I don't think we have anything like craiglist here.
