I do love their vision statement (ALACE envisions a network of woman-centered childbirth educators and doulas transforming societal views of childbirth, ensuring that everyone recognizes the importance of birth and that each woman and her family experiences an empowered pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period.)
I thought the training was fabulous and felt pretty prepared going it alone at the first birth I assisted at. I think their doula program is fairly comphrehensive even including how to build a business, we had a great trainer and they post support items (like client intake forms, etc) on their website. I think like any training it's a starting point for gaining knowledge and helping you develop the kind of doula practice you want.
Things that I wish were different: I wished the seminar was longer than 3 days, and practiced more massage techinques/physical support and self care.
