OK, here's my update. I did the festival and it was great! The coordinators even talked to me about doing the Harvest Festival in Sept

I'll make a much larger play area for the kids and have all my info, CAM's and the collectives at the info side of the booth. I'm also going to hook up with LLL and Mother's Support Network about havig their literature available.
Luckily my baby sister helped me all weekend. She's really awesome and because I did both her births is extremely supportive of my work.

I also had a freind from San Jose that is a Doula and does jewelry stay with me for the eekend. She did a booth with her jewlery, so they both were there to back me up if I had to leave for the birth.
My client called Sat. morning and said she was contracting and still had bloody show

she as going grocery shopping and would call when things picked up. I acted as their sibling doula and had charge of their other three kids, 12 yo g, 8 yo b, and 16 month b. Her dh called about 5pm and said things were moving along and could I pick up the 8 yo b from a sleep over. No problem! I levft my sis in charge of my booth and headed out.
The birth was wonderful! I took the 16 mo for a walk around the neighborhood and just hung out in front of the house. The older kids would come out every once in a while to give me updates. At one point the 8yo came out and said, "Now she souns like my Dad!" I knew this meant her vocals were getting lower so I told the kids to hang out right in front with me cuz the baby was coming soon. Mynext update was, "News Flash! News Flash! The baby's out!!!"

I went in after the kids said Momma was asking for me. it was very sweet seeing them all snuggled up in bed together. It was their first homebirth. She had the baby around 8:30, in the water with Daddy behind her. Thy both caught the baby (I asked the 8 yo and he gave me all the details). The 16 mo started getting really bouncy and a bit whiny, it was around 10 by then, so I took him for another walk so he'd go to sleep. I got him settled, Mom and Dad settled, and 8yo wanted to come with me so I brought him home to spend the night with us. Sunday morning I dropped him ack off at the sleep over so he could party with his buds.
When I came in the second time the MW gave me a huge hug and said I was the best homebirth dula ever!

I replied, "well, I've had my births so I want my clients to have awesome ones too!" She said what I did was absolutely perfect and thatthey look forward to working with me again. awwwww
I went by on Tuesday and picked up the 3 kiddos and brought them to my house for a play day. We swam and ate and talked about the birth. I answered any an all questions they had an it did Mom and Dad lots of good to have a day off. I'll do the same this Monday or Tuesday and then the next week go to their place to visit.
Th baby is just beutiful. 8 and 1/2 lbs and lots of dark hair. He looks like a MiniMe of the 16 mo.
I went back to the festival Sunday and got a client! She's due near Halloween and it's her first. She lost a set of twins last year at 6 mos after a car accident.

They didn't tell her the babies were gone and she ent for an ultrasound two weeks after the roll over crash and the babies were dead. How horible is that??? I have our first prenatal on Sunday. So we shall see...
That is my update
