After you have a baby fair drawing and collect all of those names and numbers, what do you do with them?
Do you call them?
Send them a card?
Stop by unannounced?

I draw my winner and throw the rest of the names out.
I HATE when people call me when I have entered my name in a draw ( unless I am the winner) So i do not call or send out info inless they request it.
If they are from a contest, I do what Michele does--toss 'em! I hate being contacted after I enter a contest.

A good way around this is to include a little "Please add me to your mailing list" type box that people can check or leave blank depending on their preferences. That way, it isn't a complete waste.
For prize draws, my entry forms had room for a name, phone number, address, email, and due date. All information was optional, and my little "spam me" box included an explanation that mamas could cancel at any time. As for what I did with the names, I liked to send/email my contact list seasonal discounts, newsletters, cards, and - in the early days - the occasional reminder/prompt to visit my website (which offered a calendar of events, workshops, and classes).

The way mine works is "Join our mailing list to be entered to win blah blah blah"
On the form we have a third party notice (that it wont be shared) and I send an initial mailing with the option to opt out at any time.
