Need Brainstormers

Okay doing this Alternative Health Expo next weekend, got everything for my booth - not hard as I usually do 3-4 of these things yearly. However; I've been given 20-30 minutes to do a demonstration. What can I demonstrate? I've thought about comfort measures, breastfeeding but I really don't have enough "props" as you will to do it properly. Any suggestions on what I CAN do? I have a birth ball, rebozo, massagers...it that enough for 1/2 hour? HELP!!!!!

I'm thinking you can do a lot on a birth ball...do you have a few of them so you can get some people (like the dads) to help you demonstrate? If you plan to talk for about 15 minutes you can probably get enough questions to fill the other 15 minutes. Maybe have a list of FAQ's on hand in case the questions are sparse? I think more and more people are realizing they can use the ball in labor but don't know how good it is during pregnancy for back pain etc. Plus if they never sat on one during pregnancy they probably aren't likely to ask for it in labor. Anyway, I'm rambling....I'd probably chose a birth ball demo

ETA: another idea from the other thread on the expo is to do "whats in a doula's bag." You could probably fill some decent time discussing why some people find the things in the bag helpful.

I like Christy's idea with the birth ball.
You can do so much with a couple of volunteers, like demonstrating pressure points, comforting touch, positions, etc, etc. You could even have the 'crowd' participate by trying out your techniques on each other. I'm thinking spouses/partners and friends who attend together.
The doula bag of tricks is a good idea as well.
Can't wait to hear how it goes for you Loree. You will have to come back w/a detailed report!

Just finished with the Expo and while I didn't get much in the way of future clientele I sure as heck networked my butt off! My brochures and business cards disappeared..helped that a few mommies I did doula for in the past came and sung my praises! I did a presenation on the benefits of doula attended birth too and got a good response. Thanks girls for your suggestions with the birth ball - I sat on one today and had quite the conversations about it! ;-)
