----------------------------------

I'm writing to let you know (if you haven't signed up already) about the Ask a Doula program being held in association with CAPPA CANADA on April 21 and 22 at Walmarts across Canada (every Canadian Walmart is participating).

Doulas are needed to meet the public and field questions at a booth in the store. What a great opportunity to spread the good news about doulas to the public as well as market your own services to potential clientelle. Find all the details on CAPPA Canada's web site at http://www.cappacanada.ca/Ask%20a%20Doula%20Program.html.

Event hours are 10am to 3pm the weekend of Apr. 21 & 22 only... please contact the organizers (aimy@ledahealth.ca) to let them know you want to participate, which location(s) you are interested and the days/hours you are able to be there. This event is free to participate in and there are still lots of spaces available in stores across Canada...
CONTACT THE GOOD FOLKS ORGANIZING THIS EVENT IF YOU'D LIKE TO SIGN UP OR IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ASK A DOULA PROGRAM...

Do you have to be a CAPPA certified doula to participate?

Tiffany, no you don't, just a CAPPA member.

I'm a member but not yet certified and I've only done my CBE training through CAPPA.

So, don't delay! Sign up today!

Go ahead and sign up Tiff, it's open to any doulas. I have no ties with CAPPA and I'll be manning the booth here in Moncton. It is not about promoting CAPPA, it's about promoting doulas and your own personal business!!!!!

...and that's one of the reasons why I CAPPA! They (we) have a team/let's work together attitude! This is an awesome thing; I do hope that we can do this type of thing in U.S. Walmarts, too!

Cool

I am also participating ... I got the call yesterday! They said that it was fine this time that ladies are not members but next time you will be required to be a member. They are desperate for people, supposedly only 10% of the stores have been filled, it doesn't help that some are wwwwaaayyy up North! Come on girls, what a fabulous opportunity!!

I hope that DONA catches the fever and starts DONA Canada!!! I think it could be of great value!

I was bummed because I'm not a CAPPA member, I'm a DONA. But since that doesn't matter I'm going to look into it right now. I have a Walmart less than 5 minutes away!! Thanks for the info!!

They called me yesteday and I need to return the call.

I find it intersting... but terrifying also. I so wish I had another doula to participate with.

What would we need to do..just have a nice display booth with info? Absolutly nothing to radical here. Maybe i could get one of my clients to come for the day, that would be fun! Have a couple pregnant bellies sitting with me.

Me too. Initially, I was so excited then I got really nervous.....I'm still a newbie!! From what I've read, they will supply us with materials, but am I supposed to bring some of my stuff too? I hope my own business cards will be ok. I'll have to wait and see if I even get "the call". Then I can really get nervous!!

Bring Business cards, brochures. I bring books and massage tools to dress up the table and spark interest.

Chocolate and freebies go a long way!! They will also send you a packet once you register and a T-Shirt!
