Informations needed

So, I had been looking into DONA only lately, found classes near my area and was thinking of starting in July. Now I have joined AllDoulas and found BAI, and am really impressed because it emphasizes on the holistic aspect. I just had a couple of questions before I start. How long does it usually take with BAI, if you are on time with all of your studies and births? I probably have to take the distance learning (BAI Doula Education Program) since no classes are offered anywhere near south Texas. Can't wait to hear from other BAIs!!!

Thanks for visiting and asking. Generally certification really relies on your lifestyle and other obligations. Having time to schedule births, read, do assignments, etc..
Our fastest student was three months. She had a great support and birth network around her.

I love BAI's elearning option! It's really a great option for those of us with busy lives because we can work at our own pace. I've been enrolled for maybe 2 months now and I think I'm 1/3 of the way done with the assignments, except the book reports, I'm a slow reader. I usually only have the weekends to work because of the kids. We have a great book list to chose from too.
I chose BAI because of the holistic emphasis. The student handbook is written in a way that it's like it just clicks with you. And theres so much help along the way if you need it.

Good luck with your choice!

Thank you very much you two. I have also looked into all other ones like CBI, ALACE, CAPPA, Birth Works and making a decision was hard, but I am pretty sure that BAI is the right track for ME. Now I just have to figure out when to start, either now and get it done within 3 months, because I am starting my last semester in RN school or stat in January 2011. Decisions, decisions, decisions but at least I know which doula program I want to go with.
