Really annoyed!
I take my little on to My Gym and a mama there really got under my skin. She is not pregnant with number two and is always talking about her first birth (fine by me...we love to hear this stuff). Only she was on bed rest for 10 weeks with number one and keeps going on about how at 36 weeks (yes I said 36) her dr took her off bed rest so she was doing everything she could to get labor started. Ugh! 36 weeks! Anyway, so today I am asking her if she plans to breastfeed this baby and she says no. Of course I ask her why and her reply is it just doesn't appeal to her. She didn't breastfeed baby #1 so she doesn't really want to do it with baby #2. She goes on to say that since baby #1 was a preemie (yes she succeeded after just 3 days off bed rest) she couldn't breastfeed because they really needed to know exactly what was going into baby. And since 4 oz of pumped milk on one day doesn't have the same nutritional value as 4 oz on another day it was best to use formula. By this time I was so annoyed I told her thats a bunch of crap. Of course she said that is what her pediatrician said. I told her that her pediatrician needed to update his breastfeeding information. She said her sister was a "lactose nurse" (yeah, and I am supposed to be impressed) whatever a lactose nurse is and she even said the same thing. Where do they get this information....I guess someone who thinks its a good idea to try to jump start labor at 36 weeks wouldn't really care about breastfeeding. Just had to vent!!!

Ugh!
I surely can understand your annoyance! Yes, that is CRAP, and unfortunately.....there are those out there who are full of it!!!! Frustrating, I know...but this is one of the reasons why we do what we do!

It sounds like you already assume this but my words were much more diplomatic than my thoughts. I think I came across more as "thats odd he would say that" than "thats just dumb." Thanks for the reminder that everyone is a potential client or a potential referral. Unfortunately, personal feelings can easily get in the way of professional attitudes. She is one of those women who thinks that getting a pair of baby shoes on sale for $25 is such a great deal. People like that are annoying to me. I would have hated her in high school!! hahahaha. Anyway, thanks for listening and for the constructive criticism!! Well taken

I to cannot stand people like that. It's a big thing for us if we go to payless for shoes...itstead of Wal-mart or Kmart.

I can totally understand your frustration here. I just feel this way: If she is the type of person that takes information from someone without questioning at all and doesn't question it after hearing alternative information, then I don't bother trying.
I am not going to get all bent out of shape over a family or really anyone whom doesn't want my help or information. It is sad, and still frustrating, but I would rather use my energy elsewhere.

Oh, this is PERFECT for me..it makes so much sense! I really do start to get worked up about things and concerned when I guess I shouldn't really be. That's a really good thing to remember. Thank you!

I was wondering when she was going to come up in conversation
She is waaaaayyyy annoying.
Keep your cool and maybe just maybe you can educate her but, I doubt it.
She is so early in her pregnancy and already wanting it over.

Why do people like this GET pregnant? They hate pregnancy, they hate breastfeeding, and they can't WAIT to get their kids in school so they can return to the nice quiet life they had BEFORE they had kids. What's the point? Just to populate the world with more stupid people? Yikes, I wasn't going to have opinions like this... SEE DISCLAIMER BELOW.
