Mastectomy Hospital Bill

I don’t normally forward these things on, but the website looked legit and I only put in my name and zip code. I didn’t submit my address or other info so I thought it couldn’t hurt. The odds are very good that one of us will end up with breast cancer, sad, but true...

"Mastectomy Hospital Bill in Congress! If you know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards. Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery.

Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill: - Important legislation for all women.

Please send this to everyone in your address book.
If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times. If you're receiving this, it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to go to vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same.

There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached.
Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support. Last year over half the House signed on.

PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. You need not give more than your name and zip code number.

http://www.lifetimetv.com/health/bre...my_pledge.html This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your friends and family, and on behalf of all women, THANKS."

Wow! I can't even believe they would consider making that outpatient surgery! What's next, drive through cesareans?

OH My, I work with cancer patients,a big majority of them Breast Cancer fighters. I am really appalled, I see people anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks post surgery onwards and know first hand how many of these women are still struggling to recover then. I really don't know what to say about this proposel except I for sure will be going straight to vote and will forward this message on to my co workers who I know will also be voting too.
On a lighter note liked the little joke about drive through C Sections, lets hope it stays a little joke.
I do have some great news off this topic, I just had my first birth it was totally amazing and also managed to get all my paperwork complete so only two more to go for certification. I think i have rambled on enough so will send in my birt story at another time.
Keep up the good work ladies xxxxx

I'm not sure what they want the email for. They didn't need it when I filled out their petition... I see that it still shows the email address as not being necessary info until you try to submit it without one.
My way around it? Use a fakey, LOL! Something like a@a.com worked. I hate giving out my email address and getting spammed!

If you ever need a fake e-mail addy (that you can actually check, but not e-mail out of) you can always use (whateveryouwant)@Dodgeit.com ...
