Love that Linda Smith!
Ditto to all that Stacie advised.
One other thought: sometimes if mom can get the flow of milk started before baby latches on, the baby is more interested in staying on the breast and does not become as frustrated. If mom can hand express or pump until a let down and THEN attempt to latch on the baby that may help. It is very reassuring to hear that the baby has a good latch and that the mom is committed to breastfeeding.
Sending positive wishes to them ~ and you!

I really don't have any more advice than what was already posted. But I was in situation with my dd who was a preemie. Nothing worked with her to get her to the breast but I continued trying and when she was 9mths old, i finally got her to nurse and she's 2 now and still nursing. So just wanted to offer her a bit of hope, encouragement.

I think going to LLL is a great idea, i wish i had when i was pumping but it didn't seem right since i wasn't bf but now i know that isn't true. I'd try both though.

I am sending lots of and and to this mama and her baby. I just KNOW how hard it must be to be postpartum, have a new baby, become a mother and have to deal with all this (I mean, I don't know first hand, but I can imagine)
