Lead my first LLL meeting today

I know that this is a Doula board but... I am sooo happy and since my past week has been really tuff (with the DGB) I am glad I had this ray of sunlight in my day. It was Awesome 1 mom showed up..to cool. It was at a local hospital in the L&D unit and the IBCLC showed up ..I LOVE HER!!! She asked me for my biz cards (LLL) which I don't have any yet. I told her I have my Doula biz cards..she took all I had on me and in my car, she said she gets calls all the time for doulas!!! WooHOOOOO!!!

Oh, that's great! Congratulations, and keep up the good work!

Btw....We have several LLL leaders and former LLL leaders on here, so it's perfectly ok to post away about it on Alldoulas in the Breastfeeding Support section (just like you did!).

But you have to say it to the Cops theme song - "Watcha Gonna Do When They Come For You?"

That's awesome!!! Way to go! I, too, remember my first meeting. I was sooooo nervous! But you know what? That nervousness goes away and it is such a great feeling to help just one mother at a time.

I just decided yesterday that I will mentor a mother through the applicancy process in my own Group. It is so exciting!!!

Stacie, we had a toddler meeting yesterday also. But only 1 mom showed up! We are just beginning holding toddler meetings again after a bit of a hiatus. Hopefully soon we'll will have the success with our toddler meetings that you are experiencing with yours. Great job!!

I have been looking around for meeting ideas, but I must say I am not too happy with the new site..I can't find anything anymore..it isn't (IMO) user freindly. I keep hoping that I start to get the hang of it..;(

Good luck with this!! Have you thought about going to the hospital(s) in your area to see if they would be interested in putting the meeting information in the new mom packs? I know not all would be willing but its worth a try!
