This four hour training covers the basics for using essential oils for
clinical use with antenatal,labor, birth and postpartum use. The training includes
a mini kit of 5 essential oils and a carrier oil for beginners. Course costs
$90. Additional texts can be ordered; $65 for Essential Oil Desk Reference
Book and Pocket Guide or $20 additional for Pocket Guide alone. Oils will
also be available for sale.

The course is designed for the following objectives:
* Understand the history of essential oils application and use.
* Understand the basic chemistry of essential oils.
* Define and describe essential oils.
* Recognize the importance of origin and production in essential oils.
* List basic properties of common essential oils.
* Describe the mind/body effect of essential oils.
* Recognize five therapeutic grade essential oils chosen for patients
with emphasis in obstetrics.
* Understand safe usage guideline for essential oils, and work within
those guidelines.
* Demonstrate application procedures for direct and indirect
inhalation, diffusion, bath, massage, compress, neat application & topical usage.
* Understand administration, dosage, indications, & contraindications
for the essential oils chosen for patients.
* Identify the goals of the essential oil program.
* Describe the essential oil use to a patient and obtain informed
consent.
* Administer oils under distinct protocols
