Red face Tell me I can do this....

So all this time I had assumed my CBE training was too far gone to count toward certification, well... low and behold it's not!

I had an executive committee meeting this evening and was talking with our treasurer who also happens to be my CBE trainer, I was telling her how I would need to be really working toward completing my pp cert, cle cert and taking a new CBE training to get certified in that too and she looked at me like I was nutts 2 of the other doulas in our association who also took the same training are taking their exam in September, I don't know why it didn't hit me that I still had time

So now I'm freakin' out, really! I have essentially 1 month to get the rest of my requirements in and take that test! I have to teach a 12 hour min series and be evaluated among other things, can I do this???

And after reading ICEA's website I'm really not sure if I still qualify, I don't remember if I ordered a cert packet and if I did I have no clue when that would have been... ugh... phone calls to make!!

If I can pull this off it would save me so much money and time, please pray that it works out and if it doesn't please please please help me remember that it will still work out, just differently

You can do it!! Work your little fanny off. Tell your family that for the next month you'll be mostly unavailable and just do it. You'll be so proud of yourself. You'd be amazed at what you can accomplish in just one month of intensive work.

And then afterwards, you can take a bubble bath, with a glass of champagne and dark chocolate to celebrate your hard work.

Lists and short term goals! That's how you will do it! Becasue, if you can give birth, you can do any damn thing at all!

You can do this!!!!! Just start with those things that you can accomplish immediately and make a plan for the other stuff.

well it's not going to work out after all, I contacted ICEA this morning and found out that by the date of my training I would have to have finished all of my requirements by Sept 2nd or take another training anyway, the requirements being 12 hours of evaluated teaching of the same series, all of the CBE classes here are 6 weeks 2 hour classes each, so that would put me over, then on top of that she told me I'd have to have observed 2 births... I tried to explain that I've been a doula for 4 years and am certified but she said that the requirement of observing 2 births comes after you order the cert packet. I asked about an extension but with everything going on I just don't see it happening.

The other big news is a doula trainer from FL contacted me about helping organize a doula training here so I'll be working on that on top of everything else (getting the center up and running, my pp cert, cle cert...) It'll work out, I'll go with my original plan to take a CAPPA distance CBE course and go through them

I'm sorry your original plan didn't work out...but who knows? Maybe it just wasn't supposed to happen that way for you.

You can SO do anything you set your mind to . When I get discouraged or feel overwhelmed I just take myself back a year or two and then look forward at all I've accomplished. It really puts things into perspective. AND if you remember all the times you felt so crazy and out of control and how you DID survive, and pushed forward and made it!
