Referral Commission for Classes?

Saw the post for doula clients and wonder if any CBEs offer a commission for referrals to their class?

I think that would be a great idea if you are teaching privately. I hope to hear someone has had some success with this.

I feel like we as childbirth professionals should be referring women around to the various classes, doulas, midwives, etc. that are out there. That is how we form a birth community in our areas and I think compensating each other for that isn't necessary, it's all part of what we do.

I didn't see the post about doulas so not sure what that was but have to say I agree that we all should refer to each other and not expect a payment, it is kind of like "pay it forward" . Refer to the ones who you think have the fit for certain family or the specific knowledge for a certain issue or just a great doula/cbe.

I agree with this to a point. But, I think if you are in an area where there are no or very few independant cbe's and most people don't really understand the difference this would be a good way to get referrals from unlikely sources. And I think there is a difference between charging a referral fee and offering one.
