I cant find a CBE class

I need to attend a minimum 2 hour childbirth education class and there is none anywhere in my area .I have researched for hours on end and made a lot of phone calls .I did get ahold of one at our local hospital but the teacher is new and the class this weekend is large so they wont allow me in ........the next one is November 9th but I want one sooner if possible .I even offered to be a gopher but she would be too nervous with a doula present ,I understand .Any ideas would be greatly appreciated .I have been to several classes in the past but this one has to be after I started my CBI training .I have 3 births comming up the next two months so I am fine in that respect its just the darn birth class I need .

Can you rent or buy tapes?

Lamaze has class series on videos to buy or borrow.

You have 3 years, so stop being greedy, LMAO!

As for the hospital class, if the teacher is new you might not be able to use it toward your certification whether you go this weekend or in November anyway (I believe the teacher needs to have 50 hours under their belt).

Good suggestion Liz!
Ask your trainer if a DVD/video childbirth class will be allowed (your local library should have Lamaze Childbirth Class on tape/DVD or borrow it through an onter-library loan).

Good luck!

I thought I was SOL as well, but it ends up the tiny town next to us has a CBE class at their local hospital, that doesn't even do deliveries. They all come here to the hospital in my town. Obscure........

Have you called local midwives or checked the Bradley website for local instructors?
It might be worth it to look outside the hospital for classes.
