Input about class flow

I thought I had my outline the way I wanted it and now I'm thinking about changing it again.

Here's what I have right now:
1 – Class Overview and Nutrition
2 – Anatomy and Physiology- General Information
3 – Prelabor and First Stage
4 – Second Stage, Third Stage and Labor Support
5 – Postpartum: Mom, Partner and Baby
6 – Variations, Interventions/Meds, CSection
7 – Hospital/MW Procedures, Informed Consent and Birth Plans
8 – Review Birth Plans, Final Labor Overview
9 – Breastfeeding
10 – Newborn Care and Final Labor Review

Here's what I'm thinking of doing:
1 – Class Overview and Nutrition
2 – Anatomy and Physiology- General Information
3 – Prelabor and First Stage
4 – Second Stage, Third Stage and Labor Support
5 – Postpartum: Mom, Partner and Baby
6 – Variations, Interventions/Meds, CSection
7 – Hospital/MW Procedures, Informed Consent and Birth Plans
8 – Breastfeeding
9 – Newborn Care and Labor Review
10 - Review Birth Plans, Final Labor Review and Rehearsal

That Labor Review/Rehearsal class doesn't have much in it. However, most of that class is going thru all the positions, comfort measures, etc they have learned and doing practice contractions. My new thought is that if I made that the very last class I could also have some time for questions (although if it's something I needed to research and get back with them on, that kind of defeats the purpose). And if it's a group of 2+ couples we could do a little snack/drink/mingling thing to wrap up our time together.

Discuss. lol

Hi
I like what you have and could see it working - especially given your explanation of what you are going to do. We had a discussion similar to this today in our Lamaze PFB seminar and my own experience is that once I have spoke about Bfing and Postpartum there is a different energy in the group and I think it would be hard to go back the next week and talk about labour again.

But...I can also see how it could work. I say go with your own gut, try it and if it doesn't work change it up.

Cheers,
Shawna
