Fear Anxiety worksheets

I booked a mommy this weekend who has anxiety issues and through the course of our meeting she literally used the word anxiety and fear in access of 100 times! This is something i will work with her on, and will probably require alot more prenatal visits than usual and im excited about being able to empower her enough to obtain her ideal birth! I was curious if any of you ladies have any handouts, worksheets, workbooks, or even internet sites that i can get some input to create for her. I want to give her something where she can do some self reflection and address these fears in her own time so this is something she is really working on all the time not just when we meet! She is aware of her position in this she sees a professional to help her once a week, i have his contact information (he suggested she consult a Doula ) so i can run everything through him and make sure i am not undoing or messing with his treatment. He is great, we discussed very clearly my scope of practice and what areas of her fears and anxieties i would address. So back to the point, anyone have any suggestions for me?? You guys are the Best!

Check out Birthing From Within. The book has an exercise called Taming your paper tigers or the Keepsake Journal has Birth tiger safari in. The Keepsake Journal walks you through it more. The whole Keepsake Journal could be of use to her. You can order it on the Birthing from Within site.

Yes there is! I'd be happy to email it to the op if she can't find it

i had a consult with a young girl who used the word "scared" and "terrified" over 20 times in the hour we were chatting. she is definitely NOT informed, not does she sound inclined to become informed. it was very sad indeed.

i'm sure you will help your client in facing these fears and assist her in having a great birth experience.

I have a book called "Creating a Joyful Birth" By Sandra Bardsley. It is a workbook and Birth Cave Imagery CD. It has a bunch of exercises that are good for anxiety and fear, sexual abuse and so on. It could be worth buying to work with the client. We did a couple of the exercises in our Doulas training.

I wanted to add that I think the workbook is hard to find but Barbara Harper sells it on her website. I bought it at her place- Waterbirth International. I think it was about $36 which is alot but I think it has some great exercises in it.
