Question Hi All - could use some help with contract language

I'm trying to state in my postpartum contract that if a birth client needs me, then I will have to leave to attend her birth.
I'm trying to do this as eloquently as possible. Suggestions?
TIA

An alternative to putting it in your contract is to let them know when they schedule with you that your are currently on call for a client due on xx date and should she go into labor you'll have to leave to attend the birth.

I would put in my contract something to that same effect being sure to let them know you would make up the hours

I agree. Assuring the mom that she'll get her full 10 hours, or whatever is probably the most important part...

i always let my clients know if i am on call for a birth. if i miss the time, i just make it up, or my doula partner might be able to do the hours....its never been a problem, i think women who hire doulas understand the nature of the work.

I have recently revisited my contract and am trying include a portion for this exact situation. I don't have the exact wording worked out either. I'm anxious to hear the ideas. I think it's important to include everything you tell a client about your services in your contracat. That way expectations are very clear from the beginning.
