I've found the rates for my area in the newspaper, and I think NJ has a state link which has theirs. Maybe try your state's website and look under health? Good luck You could always call the individual hospitals as well

My best thought is have your client call individual hospitals to find out their stats.

I just googled "Caesarean Rates for Toronto Hospitals" and if you dig the information is there. I found some amazing studies because of it.

thanks for all the suggestions so far, i have found a few things with the mn department of health. i had already googled cesarean rates for minnesota hospitals, but i didn't find much, which is why i thought i'd try this forum. most of what i am finding is fairly old information. i'll keep looking though, and will post any useful sites. let me know if anyone has any other links or ideas! thanks!

hi kate, where are you in minnesota? i find it interesting that despite hours of searching online, i couldn't find a list comparing local hospitals' c-section rates...i looked under surgical procedures, c-sections, pediatrics, maternal care, whatever i could think of but it just wasn't there. is it me? should it be this hard to find this kind of vital information? any pregnant woman ought to have fair accessability to c-section rates, don't you think? i have to wonder maybe i'm just so green to this field that i don't know where to look, but i tell you after the amount of time i've put into researching this, it really shouldn't be this hard! i suppose it will require getting a list of local hospitals and calling them individually, then hoping the person who answers the phone can give me accurate information, then putting the list together myself with Word documents...

I just finished reading "Pushed" last night & according to Jennifer Block, only 2 states have mandatory reporting for c/s rates. If you can't find them (or even if you find it's really hard to find them), write a letter to your state rep. & ask for public reporting to be made law. Pregnant women can't make informed decisions without information.
