In order, my breakdown is:
*Loan Agreement*-- Form for client to sign agreeing to loan terms (I have a fill-in-the-blank form tucked in the pocket on the inside cover of the binder. Once they sign upon agreeing to the loan: I take the form, make them a copy to keep, and place the original in their client file.)
*From your Doula*-- (a friendly letter basically explaining the use and purpose of the loaner binder, for how long it's to be loaned, gently explains cost of replacement if lost or damaged, and asking them to please let me know if there's anything they'd like to discuss in more depth.)
Pregnancy
Labor & Childbirth
Breastfeeding
Postpartum & Newborn Care
Resources
Any 'dad specific' pages I have are intermingled into the appropriate section (topic); however, if I had more dad things, I might consider making a devoted section for that as well.

I had never thought of this myself, for those of you who use binders, do you find that your clients appreciate it? How do you structure the info in these respective sections? What info do you cover in those sections? etc. Thanks!

so far the binder has gone over well (though I haven't used it a lot--not many clients). I basically use it to avoid printing handouts for each client but if there is something I think they might want a copy of (say bishop score info) I'll put multiple copies in (and tell them if there are multiples feel free to take one). I like it because I can print off all of my favorite stuff and they can thumb through it and look up info that they feel they need. At the end of each section I also have a sheet that has recommended books (specific to that section) and recommended web sites (also specific). Obviously, some of the books and sites are mentioned a couple of times.
If you read through other threads in this forum, Megz, you'll find tons of links to suggested articles for the binders. Basically, if I think it is a cool article I'll print it and put it in the binder (please don't yell at me for copyright violations).
There is so much great info on breastfeeding available in handouts that I'm considering making a separate binder for that so I can separate the topics further so it is a better reference tool.
