How much did it cost you to put your binder together? What is the binder made of? Did you spend a lot of time searching for the articles/handouts or write them yourself? How much information was included in it? Is it going to be a complete pain in your ass to create a new binder to replace one that goes missing or gets damaged?
I think $20 is a reasonable price to replace a binder; $50 might help ensure that it is less likely to go missing.
My binders are included within my contract, and my fees for damage/replacement/sale is $30 for each binder (I now have ten binders - doubles of each category for pregnancy, labour/birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, and infant care - so that overlapping clients can still have something to browse through depending on their needs). A full set will cost them $150 to keep.
I personally put a lot of work into them, so any damage or loss is noted on their file/chart, and they need to pay for replacement (I also had a client who purchased three of the binders; I ended up gifting her the other two since they were a matching set).
Replacement cost is really relative to the value you put on them.
