Hi guys, I changed my website a bit and I get alot of hits but I don't any calls from it. Can you guys have a look at it and let me know what you think and be brutally honest. I soooo need some work.
I'm not a fan of the font. I think it needs to be cleaner, and consistent throughout the site.

I have to agree with Ashley about the font. You also should adjust your language to be more inclusive, as in Dads and Doulas ... you can't assume that the support person will be the dad, just a thought. But otherwise it's good. I wouldn't worry too much about getting calls from it, I have only ever gotten 2 requests from the webiste and all the rest are word of mouth and DoulaCARE and others.

Do you prefer the font of the page? OR neither fonts?
K.
I almost think the front page font is too plain, and the other is too messy.... It is too plain, only because i don't think it "goes" with the feel of the site... Ok, I don't know what I'm trying to say. NEVERMIND! UGH!

The image you have in your header is beautiful, but takes a long time to load, and I'm on broadband. I also think it takes up a lot of space, but I'm on a computer that has a 800x600 screen size, it may look better on my laptop.
The centered font on the main page is very hard to read, in fact, most will not even attempt to read it. I'd left justify it, and use a footed font, like Times New Roman.
The same with your text on the other pages, they're showing up huge on my IE 7, they look more like a 14-16 point font, and I'd also use a footed font for that body text, I'd likely use black instead of the bolded blue.
I think it's a great start, but could use some refinement

It's kind of boring imo. Like it's lacking something, but I don't know what. I agree about the font though - the one on the front page is blah, but I don't like the color of the one on the others. Maybe if it was black I'd like it better? I don't know. I am not being helpful. What are you using to design your site?

Ok, i checked the website from my laptop, and it took 15 seconds for your page to fully load with broadband (cable connection).
The welcome text that is centered isn't even on the screen and it's likely that folks might not scroll down to see it. The font on the other pages still looks too big on this computer as well.
Also, I'd disclose your fee up front. I've found that many people won't call to inquire because they'll assume that your fees are too high.
As I move through the pages there's a gray background that keeps appearing as the page tries to load, then it flips to the pink background. It's distracting and taking up time in the loading of the page.
On your about me page, the first sentence of your philosophy might be off putting to some women. I'd start with the second sentence and eliminate the first entirely. I'm also willing to support women in their goals for birth, not my own, but the "any birth experience is normal" just doesn't ring true and wont' for many women.
I'd revamp the links page to include educational links instead of so many "buy this" links. But that's just a personal quirk of mine.

Thanks guys, I've gone back to my original format of my website and altered the font and colour of it. I'll fix the links page and make two, Friends of Kindred Spirit and Learning links. Or something like that.
Thanks guys for all your help, if you have anything else to add about the new one, fire away.

I LOVE the new one. I haven't had a chance to go through all of the pages, but I love the colors and it's so much prettier Good job

You are too shy giving constructive criticism.
I have some web design experience, so I will offer some of my help for this. First, since your menu looks too plain, generate a CSS menu using this tool: webmaster-toolkit.com/css-menu-generator.shtml
Next, your body is pretty plain too. It's not eye-catching enough for draw anyone into the other pages of the site. Study on some CSS to add to your html code: w3schools.com/css/default.asp
Finally, don't be afraid to increase your font size. Usually something like a 16px font for Times New Roman is great on the eyes. Right now, what you have strains the reader's eyes.
i didn't see the old site so i can only comment on what's up right now. i like it's clean andsimple look but yes the font is mych too small. and i personally prefer a non serif font like arial or verdana.
but i think overall the site looks great and sets you up as a professional.
