Which testimonial should I choose for my brochure?
Hi alldoulas-sisters!
I'm making up a tri-fold brochure and only have room left for 2 testimonials.
I'm planning to have one of them be a professional testimonial, and one from a client. I'll show you what I have and which ones I need to choose from:
Professional:
"Excellent labor support! Very good at calming patient and encouraging participation of client's husband. We would recommend her to any of our clients." _________, CNM, MSN
(The reason that I really like that one is because she mentions the client's husband. I think that many of my potential clients are initially worried that a doula would try to take the dad's/birth partner's place.)
Here are the 2 client testimonials that I would like to choose from; please give me your opinion/vote!:
"I loved that she wrote down things that happened during my labor. She also had good techniques to help with pain!" Doula client---
"Lori was a wonderful doula. She was very supportive and reassuring. Not only would I recommend her to friends but I hope that she will be available for future births of my own."
Doula client---
Which would you choose? Feel free to give me your opinion on any/all of the three on whether you would use them or not on a brochure. I think that my biggest decision is between the client testimonials, however, and which ONE of those to choose. If you want to tell me the reason for your vote, that would be great, too!

Without question I like the second client comment!! The first one is nice since she mentions pain relief but I do prefer the second. I am not marketing genius but I do like the idea of testimonials. And I doubt you could get a better one from a professional. You might want to spell out that it is a midwife you worked with. Not everyone reading it will know what CNM means.

Thanks so much for your suggestion & your vote, Christy! I really appreciate it! Sure, I can write "Certified Nurse-Midwife"; I didn't really think of that, but you're right.
Anyone else have anything to add?

I like the second one as well...the fact that it mentions recommending you to friends as well as a future repeat client!!! Yup, no doubt #2.

#2 As well although I had to think about it for a little while.I just think if I were the client I would find more........Confidence? Not sure if that's the word I'm looking for,but I think you know what I mean.I hope
Personaly I would be posting to all the ladies as well about this decision, because I LOVE them all.Oh how it's hard to choose.

Thanks everybody! #2 it is, then! Actually....I had just received the second quote in the comment section of an evaluation today. I get permission from clients to use their comments for marketing purposes if they seem appropriate. For every birth, I always have clients fill out an evaluation form for me for two reasons: 1)so I can pick out the 3 best to send for recertification when it's time, and 2)so I can continually work to improve my work! When I saw this comment, I was excited; I thought that it might look good on a brochure.....but then I had to decide whether or not to use the first one!! Ugh! Thanks for your help, everyone; I really appreciate!

Thanks, Cathy! So far, I guess that it's unanimous! I really do think that I will go with #2; I KNEW that all of you would give me your honest opinions, and who better to ask than other doulas!

Client #2- Assuming that she is married, it shows that the husband felt comfortable with you as well as the momma. A recommendation to all her friends is always a good thing!
