May I make a suggestion? One thing I **love** to see is lots and lots of original, thought provoking articles. In my other life I'm managing partner in a marketing firm and if you have a lot of GOOD original material it does two things
1. establishes you as credible
2. gets you lots of links, even so you can have a section called "who links to me"
You may be new and not have a lot of experience from which to draw. More thoughts --
What in particular struck you about your training? One thing I liked about the recent Lamaze seminar was Christy's peer teaching on birth ball safety. A small bit but birth ball safety or rice sock safety is always a nice reminder.
What other life skills do you draw on? Have you had communications skills or human relations training? Well, use those skills to write about "earning the nurse's trust in 3 easy steps." Don't forget to include one or 2 mistakes not to make.
What are you struggling with in your daily life? Balancing work and family? Promoting perinatal nutrition (as a mom and a doula)? Being a doula and a single mom? Being a doula and working full time? Brainstorm what works and what doesn't. Tell us about it!
http://www.having-a-baby.com/article.htm#tip_pdfs is a wonderful example of what I mean.
You don't have to be a natural writer to do this. Just follow these tips and let YOU shine through! Your website will be the toast of the doula web!
