I hired a designer to design a logo for my work (becuase, you know, I totally love to critique logos but I do suck at digital illustration) and I want to get your opinions about the concepts he has sent me so far. Here is a business description:
Expecting Miracles is a non-profit organization providing free pregnancy, childbirth and parenting classes. We specialize in serving women and teens facing unplanned pregnancies but offer our services free of charge to all families in our community.
Slight disclaimer, we have not discussed colors or fonts yet, so please vote for your favorite overall *CONCEPT* and then put specific preferences in your post.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
PS: The designer of these logos is Karl at dnadublin.com who I found on Elance. Karl is extremely talented, great to work with and his fees are very fair!
It was really hard not to pay too much attention to the fonts! But I chose three because for one, those little shoes really grabbed at my heart; and when I thought about it more carefully, I realized the two logos that show two people turned me off a bit (for your org's purposes) because many of your clients will be facing this alone; but the single figure with baby turned me off a little for the opposite reason, like "oh my goodness, I'm all alone in this". (That's a little garbled; hope it makes sense, and I'm not really THAT overanalytical, those thoughts just sprang to mind. Anyway, second, I know you said fonts aren't decided on, but I liked the look of the third one because the font isn't too cutesy. It's a good balance between picture and font-style.
I liked #1 because no matter what the circumstances, there will be a mother and baby --even in placement, at some point there will be a mom and baby. I was turned off by the "family" pics because in many unexpected/teen situations, there isn't a comitted partner there to rely on.
I wasn't crazy about the shoes, 'cause they are just girl shoes, lol. Baby feet would be cuter, but i like #1's concept the best.
I really liked #1. I think it's better to not show 2 parents. I might even go as far as to change the color of the adult holding the baby in #1 from blue to pink or some other color.
Like the first one the best, though I'd like to see the font from #3 used with the picture from #1.
If you weren't going to have a lot of single moms, I might feel more strongly about the other options, but even then the first one was still my favorite.
Color wise, I like what's already in place, but I'm really starting to like the pink/brown color scheme I've seen a couple of times lately. But, if you go with blue and pink, nobody feels like their skin tone isn't represented.

This is nearly the exact same thing I was thinking. Others have mentioned changing it to feet but I really like the shoes. I'd probably change the color of the shoes because I think the pink/blue combo has a dated look, though

I chose one and three. I like 1 the best and I like the font, but like some pp, the baby shoes really did a number on my heart. I hate the #three font.

No.1 picture but number 3 font would look great to me. Guess the poll leans towards those 2.
Good luck with it and in the end do something that reflects a part of yourself so that when you look at it you identify with it.

ITA with that. The booties just seem to be more of a balance for your org's concept.
I voted for #1. I love the family images, but for single moms, I agree that this may not be the right graphic. I like the font also on the first one.
I agree w/the pp about the baby feet. I would like third one w/baby feet instead of the shoes. I thought the shoes were too girly.
