something regarding new CBI requirements that I don't understand

regarding new CBI requirements...

Birth Doula Course:

Review of childbirth education services – you are required to review the childbirth course options available to women in your community

I don't fully understand the wording of this. Am I supposed to research childbirth courses and review what they offer? Or something else?

I'm feeling a bit addled by this, but the wording is throwing me right now.

TIA!

I think it means that we are supposed to see what is offered in our area. Like Lamaze in the hospital, out of hospital, individual classes; Bradley, Hypnobabies, etc. If you google birth classes and your town you can pull them up or call the local hospitals. I think it's about getting a feel for what clients have access to.

Thanks Michelle! I barely got any sleep last night, and every time I tried to read the words today, they just made noooo sense at all.
Thanks for clarifying!

I think, too, that there will be a lot more detail about what this assignment entails when it's posted on the website in Feb. I think the e-mail was just to give us a heads-up and a basic run-down of what's coming.

I'm actually looking forward to doing the review of services. As I said in another post, I think I know what's available around here, but I may be surprised at what I find.

you know i was all worried about this too and I collected a big list of who offers what and how much they cost and which meathods they teach etc etc etc but I just went to the site and did it. They give you a list of options to check off which ones are offered in your area (hos CBE course / birth center /independant / bradly c-sec etc) and then you pick one and answer some questions - what does it cover, how much does it cost..... and so on.

It wasn't nearly as scary as i thought it was going to be.

Yeah, you can preview the survey before having to actually do it "for real" - this is also true for the postpartum course as well for that new assignment.
