I've done 2 births with it. I want to become an instructor since we don't have one in Illinois but I can't afford to go to Cali for the training and I don't have enough people here to bring the training to us. The workbook is good and I also listened to my clients CD's. It is NOT a course that you get certified in. It teaches you to communicate with Hypnobabies/Hypnobirthing moms. Birthing_Garden_Vanessa is a great resource.

Yeah I knew it wasn't an actual cert program, but I wanted to see how well people liked it and if it really helped them.

Im considering investing the $50 to get the workbook

The $50 investment was worth the $600 I made.

I'm so glad to hear that you are interested in it! I highly recommend looking at the instructor list to see if there is a certified hypnobabies instructor in your area. We often do hypno-doula trainings and it is soooooo much better to get it hands-on. You get the same workbook, plus you have the benefit of a live instructor.

You could also observe a class series. You'd get to be hypnotized when they practice the scripts which is always a nice treat

I'm holding a training in my area. So please let me know if you have any questions. We don't just cover hypnobabies, but we cover the gamut of childbirth hypnosis programs so you can support any client who uses hypnosis!

I took Vanessa's training this past weekend and really enjoyed it. If only she were closer to me I would love to observe a series of classes.

I took hypnobirthing classes during my pregnancy. I was using a doula who was a friend and I was one of her cert births. We just asked if she could go to my classes with me and my husband. The instructor was really cool and let her sit in on our series. This also fulfilled her requirements to attend a series of childbirth ed classes for her cert. It worked out really great for all of us!

I am both a HypnoBirthing Doula and HypnoBirthing Practitioner (cert. pending). I didn't find I understood how to fully support HypnoBirthing clients until I took the Practitioner course. I should have observed a series. I strongly recommend observing a series before you make the leap, but that is a personal opinion.

hypnobabies vs. hypnobirthing

I am considering doing one of these trainings so that I can begin offering this service and offering classes. Can anyone speak to their experiences in hypnobabies vs. hypnobirthing? I am trying to decide which of these 2 would be best for me.
Thanks!
Katie

I haven't done either, but I did find this article about them a month or so ago:
http://www.birthnaturally.org/hypnobirthing.htm

I just ordered the Hypno-Doula packet, because I was just hired as a doula for a HypnoMom (even though I told her that I had no experience in it!) So far, so good. I think it's definitely a valuable tool to have as a doula!
