Question just one or different orgs?

I am already training through CBI for birth doula and CBE. I really love CBI and my trainer and would like to take further training (postpartum and possibly breastfeeding counseling) - is it a bad idea to certify for all through just one organization? Or does it not matter?

Just wondering.

I like to diversify.. not one to put all of my eggs in one basket. What happens if an organization files for bankruptcy, goes defunct, etc? I have several orgs that I respect that I have trained and certified through. Most are still going strong but one has been having issues that make me thankful I am trained through a few orgs.

edit to add.. it is likely just a matter of preference. I prefer to train and certify through several different orgs. I think it gives me a more rounded perspective.

I think you should find the organizations that resonate the most with you. That may or may not be the same.

For example, look at all the different orgs for postpartum and breastfeeding counseling....maybe CBI will be the best choice for you for that, maybe not....

I think you have to decide which organization fits what you want out of the specific training. If CBI fits for birth doula but DONA works for PPD and PfB works for CBE then go with the one interests you the most. Did that make sense?
