Now that we are back in routine...
Now that fall is here, and the lazy days of summer are over, how is everyone doing on their various distance courses?
Has anyone signed up for anything new?
Is anyone thinking of signing up for something new?

I am doing my CBE through CBI, and my lactation educator through Cappa. I have started focusing on my LE, so I have actually set some goals for myself so I can hopefully go through it pretty quickly now I need to stick with them
We are taking a acation in Dec. and I am hoping that by then I will have completed (or close to it) my LE..

I have been doing this through the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute
www.sbgi.edu
They have lots of options, a certificate program, masters in pre and perinatal psych, a clinical masters, so you wind up getting a MFT degree (family therapy) and clinical and non clinical doctorate programs.
I have been so loving the material that I have been reading, its so cutting edge. I started in 2005 going part time. Many of the course you can do online, and then they have an on campus component which I am doing now. I am so excited to go and finally meet everyone i have been posting assignments with.
So my goal is to get the non clinical masters and do counseling and more of what I am doing, teaching, doulaing, etc. I will see how it evolves and where it takes me.
I am very interested in working with women that have had traumatic birth experiences in healing that as well as babies. I am not really interested to be a therapist, I thought about it, but decided it's not for me. counseling is more interesting for me, as its more teaching and helping at the same time!

I'm trying to get back into my CBE course, but I can't - I've been making Christmas presents for my girls. I am all done with my doula work - now I'm just waiting for my certifying births to deliver.
I want to sign up for the postpartum and breastfeeding program through CBI, but I'm forcing myself to wait until I've completed more of my CBE requirements.

I'm taking two of my undergrad classes for my psych degree, math and family psychology, and I also started the lactation program through CBI I am thrilled to be doing it and can't wait to be certified. There are NO doulas here in my town, no LLL, no peer breastfeeding support, nothing except WIC and the LC at the hospital, if they even have one. I had to hire my doula from 1.5 hours away and I had to hire her now because she books up fast (she is a homebirth midwife as well).

I haven't started anything yet, but am looking at BAI's CBE training and LLL leadership.
