Smile HI THERE about newspapers

I haven't personally contacted my newspaper in NC but The doulas that I knew up home in Syracuse NY had a couple articles done on them and were also on a local morning TV show which I thought was awesome!
It was really neat to see it!

Lynne,

You could just do a simple-What is a Doula? then explain what a birth doula and post-partum doula do. I'm hoping to use all the stuff I'm typing into word for my website for articles, marketing and such.

I like the idea of a simple article (not to medically comples) about the hormones of labor. It fascinates me and explains so much of the emotional side. i.e. fear-tension-pain cycle. Endorphines vs adrenaline...fight or flight. Bonding after birth. You said it was a medical type magazine. It seems it would fit. Since I started this path I have been so intrigued by the physiological side of labor and birth. I have a couple of great articles if you are interested....

Why Mothers Kiss Their Babies

The Chemistry of Love: Could the first opportunity to fall in love influence our ability to love for a lifetime?

I have one more Endorphines-Did you know? By Tracy Wilson Peters but I don't have a link for that one. She gave me a copy at my training. I would be more than happy to put a copy in the mail...

Of course you may have no interest in this idea at all in which case it wouldn't even matter....lol...... Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the two articles!!

i was thinknig about writing about the benefits of the pain of labor but having a hard time finding resources, there only seems to be like one article on it out there and i think referencing only one article is a little too close to plagiarism lol

as part of the Lamaze childbirth educator training I just listened to a cd from one of their conferences and that was actually a large part of the topic. I bet you could get a copy of it from the lamaze site. It was from 2001 and I believe the speaker was Kathy McGraw....I only see a list on the Lamaze site of the recordings from 2004 and 2005 but you might be able to get a copy from Passion for Birth (they sent mine with my packet)

I'll be on the lookout for other articles on the subject....
