So BirthNetwork-Columbus had it's first meeting of 2008 and we had 2 new ladies show up and I have to tell you it was so inspiring so motivating and none too soon.
We have struggled with our meetings and feeling like "what are we doing this for?" People here don't want natural births they want c-sect and epidurals.
Another lady in the group has struggled for 2 years to host a pumping Mom's support group for mom's returning to work.
So, tonight after some minor meeting room issues we had one of the BEST meetings we have had as a Network!!!!
Two NATURAL Birth minded, breastfeeding minded and pumping (as they plan to return to work) show up and say....
We didn't know where to find this information,
Other people I talk to think I am crazy
or A tree hugging nut
I can't talk to anyone I work with, they don't understand
I only hear horror stories,
They say Yeah, you'll change your mind once your in labor!!!!
ANd they were HAPPY and excited to talk to us !!! They wanted more information!!!!!
They had real questions!!!!
They wanted to know about Doul'as !!!!!

I am on such an emotional HIGH right now!!
I am so refreshed, so uplifted, so motivated!!
I am .......... so encouraged
And what is my prayer for 2008?
Strength and courage, I need it to continue this mission, women NEED this information.
Whenever I have had an inkling of doubt, whenever I have pondered "Who cares, why am I doing this?" The answer has been provided, BOBB, a new unexpected client, a conversation.
He really does provide!!!
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. With Joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
Isaiah 12:2-3.
I pray for success for all Doula's in 2008 and CBE's and all persons involved in or who pursue natural birth. We deserve to be cherished and supported!!!
