non-faith-based crisis pregnancy center

I think it is something that is totally needed because not all women in need of crisis pregnancy services want to convert to Christianity.

I've been googling for like an hour and found nothing but Christian centers.

I really would like to find a place like this to volunteer at locally but I can't sign the statement of faith.

I think the reason for this is that most crisis pregnancy programs are pro-life. Are you looking for something that is pro-life and a crisis pregnancy center or any type of center? I know planned parenthood is a crisis pregnancy center and I don't think they are faithed based (but I could be wrong).

Sorry, not much advice from me - no experience with this type of thing, but wanted to send you good luck vibes that you find something that works for you and you are comfortable with.

Planned Parenthood is not faithed based, and they are pro-choice. I have also been thinking of getting in touch with them in my area!

Have you tried your local WIC office? Health Department? If you call your local Public Health Department, they may be able to point you in a great direction! You could also contact some local CBE, or social workers that may be able to help more!

Good luck and keep us updated!

I don't mind working with a pro-life organisation. I'm politically prochoice, but I'd like to support women to avoid abortions if they can/chose to and avoid unwanted pregnancies in the first place. I can't see myself escorting people (unless I knew them) into clinics (though I admire those who do, just not my calling).

I'm really focused on pregnancy though and not so much into pregnancy prevention. (Though I'm super pro birthcontrol, it's just not my calling). So I'd like to specifically work with pregnant women.

I will call WIC and the Health Dept. tomorrow. Thanks.

Birthsong, our local public school has a teen mother program... you might check your local schools. This is inner-city, though. I've worked with adolescents for 14 years and find them tough nuts to crack. best to you,
