Glad to see this forum

Hi Val and others,

I am happy to see this new forum. I am in the midst of completing the process of becoming a CAPPA Canada Postpartum Doula trainer and am relieved to see that I will have another great place to go to for support.

I will be teaching my first training in October and fortunately I have wonderful support and mentorship from the Canadian Director of Postpartum Training for CAPPA.

I look forward to seeing more posts here.

Cheers,
Shawna

WOW! I have been so inactive on Alldoulas (because I have been way overactive every where else in my life!) I had no clue there were all these new forums, espcially this one. Totally psyched so I can teach kick butt trainings!

Hey Shawna!

I want to wish you so much good luck---just enjoy this first one---I was literally shaking and studdering through my first teaching gig---now not so much! You are such a warm, intelligent and engaging woman that your group is so fortunate to have you as their trainer. Please let us know how it goes!

Cheers,
Jodi

Thank you for your support and encouragment Jodi I am a bit nervous about covering all the content and remembering it for that matter. I have been facilitating workshops for years but I still get nervous when it is the 'first'. I wil let you know how it goes.

Hi Shawna!
I am doing the distance learning through Cappa Canada. When we moved to Canada we thought we were going to be in Ontario, but now I am in Calgary! I have noticed that there are no Cappa trainings in Alberta. Dona is very dominant here. Are you planning on coming out west??? I know that is probably not up to you, but I would be interested in attending a workshop.
I hope your first workshop in October went over well. All the best of luck.
