Question How Do I Cert To train?

For those of you who are certified or working towards cert with DONA to be a BD trainer, can you tell me about the process? Requirements such as # of births, workshops to attend, reading, etc. I know I'm not a computer whiz , but I've not been able to find a list on DONA about the requirements to cert to be a trainer like they have listed for BD cert or PPD cert.....thanks, ladies! I really want to get this crackalackin'!!!!! (don't tell dh! haha)

I have no advice to offer, but I just noticed your location! You are not too far from me! I had no idea there were other doulas in the area! Nice to meet you!

I've also been seriously considering the possibility of becoming a trainer. Usually the training is offered a couple of times a year (one is usually right after the annual Conference). I wanted to do it last year in St. Louis, but the timing wasn't great for my family. I probably won't do it in Vancouver this summer, but if it's offered in Atlanta (August '09) with the Conference I am very interested!

I'll bet Lubbock could use a great doula trainer! How close is the nearest one to you now? I've found that one of the best ways to get some clients is to have more doulas and if there's not a ton of doulas there, grow your own!
