Have you done a combo training?

Has anyone put together a training that combined your "speciality" with someone else's? I am looking at doing a labor/postpartum doula training and wondered what I need to be thinking about and what I need to work to avoid. How many days did you need; twice the amount or were you able to combine enough topics to only add on a bit?

Oh, I do know that I need to ask CAPPA (hint, hint Val) about the legality of certification and if someone only wants one training.

Stuff like that.

Thank you!

Hi Tamara,
I am holding a postpartum doula/lactation educator combo training with another trainer in April and so far, it hasn't been successful. Basically, we can cover all postpartum topics in a day and a half, lactation in a day and a half, and the CAPPA stuff for the last part of the 3rd day. We've had so many other doulas tell us what a great idea this training is because the students can get the postpartum training and a much more thorough lactation education by doing the combo.
So far, no sign ups. I'm not sure what the hesitation is, other than the cost. We're giving them $100 the normal fee for doing the combo training, but that doesn't seem to be working. I'm not sure what else we need to do???

If this ends up happening, I'll let you know how it goes and what pitfalls or positive experiences we have.
Good luck with your training!!
