So as many of you know I taught my first Doula training 2 weeks ago and am really excited to do it again. I had a wonderful hostess that gathered everyone together for me and I had to do little promo. Now that the next few will be me solo, I am wondering about promo. How do I do it? Where do I find my students? I have posted on groups on Facebook and Yahoo. Could I do more? And what? I know that you creative ladies will help me with something.....

Amanda, I'm the doula training coordinator for our doula group and our doula trainer.
We send out notices about our DONA Birth Doula workshops to all the local childbirth educators, massage schools, L&D units, etc. Any place that has a complimentary or direct link to childbirth we notify of our workshops.

Think of it in the same terms that you would in advertising for clients. Network it, babe.
Advertising for clients is easy!! LOL! There are so many venues for doulas, especially online. I find so little support for the Education side ... something for me to look into....

How about yoga studios, health food stores, ob/gyn offices--and other local doula groups--are you willing to travel for your trainings? If so, you can email other doula groups, even if they are a couple of hours away. Once you get in touch with them, and if they are interested, they can do alot of the promo for you.
