Question Doula Training - Promotion question

So as many of you know I taught my first Doula training 2 weeks ago and am really excited to do it again. I had a wonderful hostess that gathered everyone together for me and I had to do little promo. Now that the next few will be me solo, I am wondering about promo. How do I do it? Where do I find my students? I have posted on groups on Facebook and Yahoo. Could I do more? And what? I know that you creative ladies will help me with something.....

Amanda, I'm the doula training coordinator for our doula group and our doula trainer.

We send out notices about our DONA Birth Doula workshops to all the local childbirth educators, massage schools, L&D units, etc. Any place that has a complimentary or direct link to childbirth we notify of our workshops.

Ang,

How would I go about contacting L&D units??? I have spoken to RNs who were interested in Doula training before, but that was years ago....

Either go through their childbirth education coordinator or contact the Nurse Manager for the L&D units and get her email for future training notices.

Advertising for clients is easy!! LOL! There are so many venues for doulas, especially online. I find so little support for the Education side ... something for me to look into....

How about yoga studios, health food stores, ob/gyn offices--and other local doula groups--are you willing to travel for your trainings? If so, you can email other doula groups, even if they are a couple of hours away. Once you get in touch with them, and if they are interested, they can do alot of the promo for you.
