Oh my heck what a perfect storm!!!

my 16 month old has had a fever for the past few days. we usually don't medicate but he was just miserable and needed some rest so he got through the night ok with motrin/tylenol. however, 2 hours into his dose, his fever was still 102 so we're taking him to the doctor to get his ears checked out.

so with that fever and not feeling well, i clearly can't take him to child care in case, say, my client's water breaks. which it did this morning at 7am hopefully little dude will be comfy by the time her contractions start and i'm needed, or by 5pm when the midwives asked she come to the birth center in case nothing was going on by then.

thank GOODNESS my dh works at home. so although it's not perfect that he would have a sick baby on his hands, it's not the end of the world. oh what i wouldn't give for a local granny right now!!!

I hope he feels better soon and that he's happy enough to stay with daddy for awhile by the time you have to leave.

I hope your little man gets better, the big man can cope if needed, and the client does really well

I used to work with a gal from Utah many years ago, I guess that's where I picked it up!!!

Well, I got home from the birth at 230am today and after I recover a bit I'll post the story. It was totally insane and long but with a great ending.

I was gone for going on 36 hours and both kids are alive. The kiddo is feeling a bit better since antibiotics started and hopefully he'll be 100% soon. The house looks like hell but at least it's still standing!
