Lightbulb Husband Support

My husband is amazing. I mean, I knew that before, but today he said something that just meant alot. I went to my first, Second Prenatal and he sent me a text message from work, just to say "Good Luck". Well after the prenatal, I called him to say how great it went. Then he said to me, "I'm so happy you found what you are meant to do, because this is what you are meant to do". I was sooooo touched, I just wanted to start to . Then he said you work sooo hard and I'm so proud of you. All of this and today isn't even Mother's Day!!!!!
I have to say, his support means everything.....just had to share with my gals because I knew YOU would understand. How I love being a wife, momma and doula.....

Thats just awsome! My husbands version of this was when he told me he was actually a little jealous because I found my passion in life. I could tell that he was excited for me...gotta love when they do/say something that makes you forget about their socks on the floor for a minute lol

Yup, mine too! My kids are also extremely supportive and tell me all the time what a good Doula I am. I'm really very lucky in that my parents, sister, brother and extended family are also very supportive. Heck, even the Little League coaches are! It's a great feeling, isn't it?

You are so lucky!!! My husband completely doesn't understand what I do and doesn't even pretend he does. He supports me, but just doesn't get it.

I think mine is a little jealous too, just trying to hide it . Since I've found my passion, he is on a quest to find his.
How great is it that they are just truly happy for us, huh? Love it, love him.....

Mine is supportive, he accepts the fact that I will never make the kind of money he wishes I would make, but he is happy I love what I do.
But he just does not get why.... the delivery room really was not high on his list of fun places to be, even with his own kids. The sleepness nights, the not being able to have a drink or 2 because I am on call, never knowing how long I will be gone....yeah he doesn't get why I do it.

There are days I don't know why I do it.... but its just something that I have to do.

Honestly dh and I have come to realize that we are very different people and have become even more different as we have grown up and we accept that about one another. I don't try to understand his triathlete stuff and he doesn't try to understand my birth stuff, but we accept that each is a very important part of the others lives It really isn't good or bad - just more of an acceptance thing after being together for 21 yrs He listens to me talk and accepts what I do, but he still thinks it is weird and he doesn't try to understand it all (which is okay with me because it take the pressure off of me to have to understand his weirdness too )
