Talking labor doula evaluation

I just got my evaluation from the doctor at my first birth and it is so nice I had to share it. First of all he gave me all 5's (being the best) and his comment reads

"Ms Shields was a very welcome addition to the delivery team. Her presence was soothing to mom and spouse. She played an intregal role in this delivery. Very professional."

I thought he was a nice guy and all but that was a lot more than I expected. And he even mailed it back to me. I forgot to get him to sign it (gotta work on that) so my client took it to him at her 2 week check up and he filled it out and mailed it in. Guess the planets were aligned for me!!!

Congratulations on your first birth Christy. Those first ones are so exciting and gratifying eh?

I usually give my evaluations in a pre-addressed envelope (with my address) of course.

Some respond, others I call and ask "Just wondering if you have had the chance to evaluate my doula services. This greatly helps me to see if and where any improvements are needed."

This seems to work quite well.

Happy Birthing to ya!

Wow, great work!!! I have only worked with one care provider who was proactive enough to send me forms after the fact (I always try to hand them to the care provider totally filled out other than the rating and comment section, and say, while you're doing your paperwork, I would really appreciate... and then try to intercept them at the door if they don't automatically fill it out and hand it back... because otherwise, it is probably a lost cause!)... To me, that shows the doctor was REALLY impressed with you! WTG!!!
You walked the line! Woohoo!

yeah, I will do my best to not leave the hospital without the forms again. This client had such a good relationship with her dr that I wasn't worried, though. Lucky for me it worked out well. I don't plan on trying it again!
