DONA Certification Questions
So I got one eval from the midwife and can the other one be from the dad or does the mom have to fill it out?

Yup, it has to be from mom. You could give dad an extra form just to see how he felt about it.

Oh...I thought that mom & Dad and a midwife had to give you an evaluation. Ah well, I liked knowing how they both viewed my services.

Nope, to the essays! You just have to sign a form that states that you read the required reading! Hope this helps!

thanks! I'm going way over the req reading list but if we needed to do essays, etc then I wanted to get those over and done with first.
I'm enjoying my reading so far, but I'm glad I don't have to do essays or reports on so many books! :o

If you use a midwife then only the midwife and the mom needs to fill out evaluations. With a dr. attended birth it must be the dr. a nurse, and the mom.
But yes, you can have dad fill one out just for your info. Just don't send it in by mistake.

no, your births have to be after you have taken your training and I believe in between the time you purchase your packet and certify. I think (sorry) that they won't count toward your certification births.
I think good is all about the birth story and how they see that you did.
I got a 5 on all of them from mom but a 4 on one of the questions from dad. At first I was dissappointed but I just figure it is all about perception. I really didn't do much because mom was very much in a rhythm, and doing very well so I didn't suggest moving into positions or anything like that so I think he saw that as not doing everything I could, but I guess I just thought mom was doing well with what rhythms and position mom chose. if it aint broke don't fix it.
It is about what the people whom are evaluating your packet think, and how they feel you did while also taking into account the evaluations. I have heard if there is any reason to deny you certification they call and talk to you about it...so they may call or clarify or something. Don't stress, maybe you could just talk to whomever gave you the 3 and ask how you could improve next time and include that in the story about the birth story...

I all really took my training and order my pack. All I was waiting for was for the births.

Yes 3s are good. You probably don't want all 3s and all three births though. If so, do another one or mix and match. They do not all have to be from the same birth. You can use one of your doctors evaluations from another mother's evaluation. Does that help? You can briefly explain why you think you got 3s in your essay under the "what did you learn" part.

DONA eval. sheets
I have a question about the DONA paket certification, it says that you have to get an eval. from the mother, the doctor or midwife and nurse you know the yellow eval. sheets...
So, from every birth you have to get those 3, correct??
